On November 6th 2011, I attended Dorsett Chapel fall in perform of Christ in Spencer, NC! Dorsett Chapel celebrated 98 years on the sidereal day I visited. Before the beginning church was built, services were being held in a atrophied schoolhouse. Mr. Jim Dorsett gave enough land for a church and a school. He stipulated that the church would be of congregational Christian denomination. The name of the church was Dorsett Chapel Congregational Christian Church. The church was of white put up boards, sitting on pillars in 1913. Service was only held at a time a month; the Reverend Charlie Williams was the first minister. In 1953, infra Reverends C.G. Lees leadership the kinsfolk hall along with the baptism pool, were built, and modern pews were purchased. Reverend Fred Currie was the pastor for 21 years and seven months, under his leadership the church revere on the first and third Sunday and then on every Sunday in the month. On the second day of October, 1965 Dorsett Chapel Christian Church merged with the United Church of Christ, one of the Western Associations. The United Church of Christ believes in the triune God, the power of peace, and that God calls them to be servants of service of others. In 1966, the church was remodeled which consisted of two bathrooms, siding, heating system, and pulpit furniture.



On February 1, 1971 the church became a full-time church. March 8, 1990 ground breaking took place, and the new church was built and still stands today. The teachings and ways of these former pastors afford shaped the way for the church to submit to leadership, and be a true follower of God.
When I attended Dorsett Chapel, as before long as I walked in I really mat welcomed. The church was bricked, big and extremely beautiful, and a lot of sight were present.
