At the beginning of the 1960s, the civil rights movement gained notoriety and became nationally acknowledged. In the first half of the 60s, under the leadership and beguile of Martin Luther King Junior, the activists used nonviolent tactics like ride ins and mass mobilization to carry out legal DeJure goals.
