At the beginning of the 1960s, the civil rights movement gained notoriety and became nationally acknowledged. In the first half of the 60s, under the leadership and beguile of Martin Luther King Junior, the activists used nonviolent tactics like ride ins and mass mobilization to carry out legal DeJure goals. In doing so they gained bi-racial support. However their successes werent tolerable to decimate the reality of the Statess racist plague. This led to a more positive movement bookmarked in the second half of the 60s. They aimed to achieve DeFacto goals. They demanded economic equality and a sharp decrease in poverty for b needs.
