The Beach

Walking barefoot on the small pebbles that lined the beach, I winced as a jagged stone dug shrewdly into the bottom of my foot. As I continued to walk, my feet found stop in the well-off, warm rachis. Behind me, I heard the voices of my classmates. I laid out my towel, took a deep breath and sit down. I looked out onto the water. I was captivated by what my eye beheld. The sand seemed to stretch for miles to my left and to my right. Just before the sand touched the water, there was a patch of grass, tall and green. The aristocratic orangeness glow of the setting sun had seemingly erased the worries and sorrows from our faces. unneurotic for a blissful evening, we temporarily forgot the relentless realization of developing up.

Our teachers started a fire. My friends sat down beside me. The camera in my dish antenna was long forgotten. A photograph could never capture the gladness in that moment- to be at peace in the nevertheless about beautiful place. It was as if there was no time. Never had I looked at my watch. The hours passed like months.

As the shades of light orange turned into red and pink, the sweet smell of marshmallows and chocolate arose from tail assembly me. My friends continued to talk as I began to think. We stood up and stretched, to shake the cold. We walked towards the water, into the soft grass that came up to my knees. I tripped, lurched forward, my toes plunging into the cold water. I looked forward, into the modify water. I saw small fish swimming in the opposite direction of me. I had scared them away. My friends giggled behind me, somewhat embarrassed, I quickly backed out of the water.
