Argument 1 : frontmost of all, the lack of knights was the major cause of feudalism. Knights were primordial in societies as they grew more dangerous. By mid 1800s, Europe was almost unliveable, everyone was at the point where they had to retrieve their grease. Societies needed local knights, they needed to the full-time professional workers, people to help them. Unfortunately, it was not cheap, and kings found themselves having solo land and political power. They did not have cash for knights.
In the beginning of the 6th and 7th centuries, the weakness of the wests government started to strong point men that were free, men that had nothing to protect themselves with, to try to ally with more powerful neighbours. Seeing they had no property for knights, vassals came in the picture. Vassals were persons that rendered service in becoming soldiers (knights) in exchange of the schoolmaster granted them with land or money.

At first, lords kept their vassals home precisely as vassals grew numerous, it just wasnt practical anymore. The collapse of the economy caused money to disappear from circulation.
