Walter becomes a man in the run for a Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry
The play was pen in the 1950s, and addressed family and dreams, scarce it was also about a mans growth. He was consumed with thoughts of gold and when his father passed off he was determined to meet the insurance money from mummy. Walter a 35 year old man was struggling with maintenance under his mothers roof, and rule. This made him feel identical a failure living under his mothers thumb. In this play Walter began very child like mentally and irresponsible, but in the end he grows to become a man.

Walter is consumed with money, and when Mama asks, Son how come you talk so much about money, [Walter] Because it is life. However Ruth clearly did support him when she talked to mama about the insurance money on his behalf.



She just did not want to encourage his fast(a) money ideas, which she knew in her heart were foolish pipe dreams. He also gave his son Travis his last dollar. This was very irresponsible and was through to irritate his wife, making her look bad to her son, after she refused to lend oneself him money. When Walter asked his son Travis what he wanted to be when he is self-aggrandizing he replies, A bus driver (1161). He looked up to his father and told him that he wanted to be just like him and this bothered Walter. [Travis]I cant make up my mind. Sometimes Mama asks me that too. And sometimes when I tell her I just want to be like you- she says she dont want me to be like that and sometimes she says she does (1162).Walter wasnt expert with himself.
