* To bring forth and maintain a feeling of security in communities
In many cities there are a great argue of officers that patrol neighborhoods, depending on the size and the crime rate. I in person live in a rural area so we do not have as many as the cities around us. Now if our officers would lose any power over enforcing the laws that the community feels that is keeping them safe. There would not only a community that would be upset because of the crime rate would go up. Offenders would be able to come and go as they joyous causing nothing but havoc for the community. The officers would lose all respect from the community. That is something that the officers in my community have to deal with because the officers are not all on the same page when it comes to the personal manner of policing they want to use.
