The Moon And Its Phases

Viewing the moon has always been a hobby of mine. When I received the assignment for this paper I was really unbalanced and ready to put my knowledge to good use. What I wasnt expecting was the wealth of information I would gain while doing this, and conclusion out how much I didnt know. This out of soma extended lab consisted of looking at the moon at the same time every iniquity and recording what I saw as the month progressed, and then writing a paper summing up my observations.
The first thing that I discover as a little girl was that the moon was never the same each night. It wasnt until later that I arrange that this was cause by the earths and the moons orbits. When the moon orbits the earth it actually reflects the suns ignitor back to the earth. As the moon orbits the earth it begins to go finished its phases.

A virgin moon is when the moon is on the attitude of the earth that is experiencing daylight. This leaves the side of the earth that is experiencing night with a moonless sky. The illustration above shows the Earth, Moon, and Sun as they would be during a new moon. The new moon indicates the beginning of a new lunar cycle which is approximately thirty days long. This busy lunar cycle began on April 3rd, 2011.



Because it was the new moon, I was unavailing to see when the moon would have risen or set. The lumber that is attached is blank on this date because of the lack of a moon in the sky. The new moon is followed by wax crescent, the first quarter, a waxing gibbous, and then the highlight of the lunar month, the skilful moon.
