Academic Honesty
The premiere member I admit was Academic Dishonesty in Traditional and Online Classrooms: Does the Media Equation think about True, by Erik w. Black, Joe Greaser and Kara Dawson, published in December 2008. I demonstrate it in the EBSCOhost database using the keywords academic honesty and online. The hold is as well peer reviewed.
The issues related to academic honesty in this member are that there is non many statistics of duplicity in online courses as there is in face-to-face education. So it makes it hard to know if the students cheat more in online education. The authors of this expression similarly raise an excellent question: Whether students engaged in online education have a fundamentally different percept of what does and does not constitute as victimize?
The second article I read was Academic Integrity and Distance eruditeness by Mark M. Lanier, published in October 2006. I found this article in the database ProQuest, using the keywords online courses and academic honesty. The article is not peer reviewed.
The issues related to academic honesty in this article are similar to the issues I found in the first article.
This article states that there is not much data regarding online cheating and very little literature dealing with online education. The studies done signify that there are more students who admit to cheating in online classes then in a classroom setting. The study also states that older students and ones with a higher GPA are slight likely to cheat then single students.
I turn over it would be hard to obtain accurate information on how many people cheat in online classs versus face-to-face classes. I would do a studied on students in online classes and students in face-to-face classes to compare the results. I would also take in account the demography area, the students age and the students GPA.
